Match report This year's scholarship holder, Fraveeze 'Roofy' Maharoof, started the season brilliantly last week capturing three good wickets and missing a hat-trick by a whisker, and scoring 24 runs not out to help his club Stanmore CC to a thrilling victory over Southgate CC in a Middlesex Cricket League Federation Cup competition.

Opening the bowling with Angus Fraser (England & Middlesex) Fraveeze ended up with figures of 3 for 19 off 19 overs. Southgate were reduced to 132 for 9 in their 45 overs with some excellent bowling from Stanmore. Angus Fraser 2 for 26 and Daminda Wijesekare 1 for 14 of their allocated 9 overs each. Stanmore reached the target in 38.1 overs with the loss of just 4 wickets. Richard Brooker 39 not out, Navin Samarakoon 29 and Fraveeze 24 not out Gluka Wijesuriya 20 were the main contributors.
