"Why do we have to play at shit holes like this? I'd thought I'd seen the last of Boston Manor years ago!" This was the first comment from Mr Ball on arrival at probably the worst ground on the circuit. A ground bordered by the M4 and the Piccadilly Line, on the fight path of Heathrow, and with a pavillion that could have been modelled on Alcatraz, not even Mr Evans could find a redeeming feature this week.
Enough of this, what about the cricket.
Change of tactics this week, the Skipper won the toss and inserted the oppo. The bowling was superb and was backed up by some fantactic catching. In total there were eight catches and one stumping taken with only two chances decked. Mohsin took 4 wickets whilst Bally,Shane and Mitesh all took 2.
In reply, James Hand hooked the first ball of our innings for 6 and we didn't look back. Hand was eventually out for 46 with 35 wanted to win. Shane came in to join Evans (44).When Shane finished the game with a towering six, Evans was not out 47. A great lesson in Jug avoidance!! he did however find the redeeming feature, the sighting of another a Ring Necked Parakeet.
