Match report At last a victory to write about. Oh Happy days!!!!
Having been inserted, it didn't take long before our batting woes were being relived. Evans bowled in over number two, and with two more wickets falling for 36 runs in 20 overs things were looking bleak againt the current league leaders.
Enter Shane. Just like the in the Western, his arrival gives hope and the gloom is lifted. He and the skipper share a 110 run partnership in 18 overs. Quite easy this batting lark when you get used to it. Confidence spreads through the lower middle order as Mohsin hits his way to an unbeaten 49. Skipper in declaration shock after 52 overs!!!
Mutterings of disbelief coming from the oppo as they take the long walk back to pavillion for Tea. Tim Roslin (now of the Bush) can be heard saying I told you they were quite storng today.
Bush innings starts in kamikaze fashion. Openers start slogging. Both out by over 5. It gets even better. Former Stanmore man Roslin, batting number 3 in run out without facing a ball in over number 6. (Was there a hint of a smile as umpire Ridgewill gave him the digit?). From then on we kept on managing to take the wickets just as they were needed. The opening bowlers returned to finish off the tail. Mixed results were had. Asif took his tally to 6 wickets and cleaned up the tail, whilst Bally was smacked through the covers by a 12 year old.
