Match report The final match of the season and arguably our finest performance of the season. It is a lovely setting at Northwood CC and the sun was out with a cooling breeze. We were invited to bat after losing the toss. The CHUDASAMA brothers, CAPTAIN AARON and DILLON, were selected to open the batting. They got us off to a magnificent start, both scoring 24. We then stuttered a little bit, until KARNAN SEMBIAN and AAKASH SURESH got us to the line. We ended on 126 for 4. A good, solid batting performance.
We then knew that we had to keep their runs down early, to build pressure and increase the run rate. We did this perfectly. A good opening spell between RITIK GAMI and ROHAN ASHAR meant that they were 25 - 1 from the first 8 overs. A superb start. The U13C's leading wicket taker, BOB McCANN, then tightened the screw even more, with a fantastic spell of 3 overs for 5 runs and 1 wicket. We restricted them to 71 - 7 from the 20 overs. AND we ONLY gave away 10 runs in wides! Excellent!
A really good finish to a really good season; 18 matches with 11 victories.
