Match report A disciplined approach on the field enabled Stanmore to secure a tie against Eastcote CC. After losing an early wicket Ben Brenan and Nikhil Patel (retired not out) steadied the score with a partnership of 31 in 6 overs. Few good hits through the covers by Mohammed Hussein and contributions from the middle order generously supported up by 35 extras helped Stanmore reach 85 for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Eastcote started slow but kept up with the run rate even though they lost wickets at regular intervals. 3 runs required with just one wicket in hand in the last over and the pressure of 3 dot balls lead to a run out when the 2 batsmen attempted a high risk 3rd run. 11 extras by Stanmore as opposed to 35 was the key to getting a tie against a strong Eastcote team. 2 wickets each for Nikhil and Jack Osborn, a good spell of 3 overs 2 maidens 1 wicket for 2 runs by Mohammed were the best of the bowling.
