Match report A win for us! By 1 run!
A great match at Pinner saw us take victory in our second League match.
CAPTAIN CHUDASAMA won the toss and elected to bat.
We went for power and to blast off up top, but only made 5 from the first 4 overs! Then we made 80 from the next 11 overs. VIRESH KANAKARATNAM, ROHAN ASHAR and AARON CHUDASAMA all put runs on the board, scoring; 13, 15 and 16 respectively. What was most impressive was our running for singles and turning 1s into 2s, led well by AARON CHUDASAMA. Our good running was also mentioned by their coach. We set them 86 from 15 overs.
To their surprise, we started with the spinners. This would take pace off the ball and make them work for their runs. They scored 24 from the first 6 overs...so we up at this point. In the 7th over AARON CHUDASAMA took a catch from the bowling of ROHAN ASHAR. It was getting tighter and tighter and from 4 overs they needed 26. A little tighter fielding and good bowling, meant they need 10 from the final over. OH NO! A wide from the first ball of that over. Now 9 from 6 balls. ROHAN ASHAR was the bowler and he kept his cool. A stumping by ROBERT SHERMER helped to force them to get 4 from the last ball. Only 2 from it and we had won!
Well done boys!
A good fielding performance and mostly good in the batting and bowling departments, plus a good organisational captain's performance.
