The Stanmore Cricket Club Lost by 20 runs

Match report Our first league match of the season ended in in a disappointing defeat as we were outplayed by OMTs. We dropped their opener Sahil Shah when he had scored only three runs and that proved costly as he went on to score 58 before being run out in the last ball of the OMT innings trying to force a second run.
Chasing a target of seven runs per over should not have been beyond us but some tight bowling and a few misjudgements quickly reduced us to 22 for 5 in the ninth over. Ed Stock and Panav Patel restored some dignity with an unbeaten partnership of 59 taking us to 81 after 15 overs. I feel sure we will learn from this match and go on to play better in the season ahead.
