Match report Sunshine at last! A beautiful day down Ickenham way.
Pitch was a tad wet and occasionally a little bit dead. The outfield was wet with longish grass. So the ball moved slowly and got quite wet.
The spectators had a nice time though; Mr.Dylan umpired, so I sat on the boundary and scored, while Mr. Robert brought me regular mugs of tea. Other parents; Mr. JackB, Ms. Aaron, Mr. Aaron, Mr. Chirag and Mr. Karnan, relaxed to watch another Stanmore C victory.
So Nikesh lost the toss and Ickenham C invited us to bowl and bowl well we did generally. A few No Balls on the scoresheet were balls that did not bounce and are therefore, called No Balls, so we were a bit unlucky there. The Wides were just about ok. Three dropped catches didn't help! But stunning Run Outs from AARON CHUDASAMA, JONATHAN BROWN(thanks for playing (U11)as we were acouple short) and JACK OSBORNE really help keep the score down. Captain NIKESH MISTRI's regular garden practice with his Dad has helped his bowling and he gained 2 for 5 off 3 overs, ROHAN BHARADIA(thanks for playing (U11) as we were a couple short) bowled tidily with figures of 3 overs, 1 maiden, 1 for 6. 106 off 24 overs is acceptable.
And so to bat.
SAHIL CHANDARANA and AARON CHUDASAMA got us off to a good start, being 20 for 1 from 5 overs. JACK BROWN again top scored with a swashbuckling 23. ROBERT SHERMER kept the innings tight by staying in for a while. So it seemed good...until the 20th over. We needed 3 to win with 6 wickets remaining, but we lost 4 wickets for 0 runs, so a little bit of panic was covering over us. Eventually NIKESH MISTRI smacked a 4 and it was all over. Another win for Stanmore C. Well done boys...again.
