Bessborough having won the toss and elected to bat and got off to a flyer thanks to their skipper who scored 12 runs in just 6 balls. With the total on 14 and in only the 3rd over, Lakshman Samarakoon held on to a great catch on the square leg boundary off Ed Stock to dismiss the danger man.

The next wicket didn’t fall until the score was 52 runs but due to some good fielding and some good bowling Bessborough had used up 14 Overs to get there and ended up on 76 for 6 which looked a decent score with a slow outfield and the continuous drizzle.

Milan Harji 1 for 10, Taif Choudhury 1 for 11 off 4 Overs each and Tejas Hirani 1 for 7, Ed Stock 1 for 19 off 3 were the pick of the bowlers. Jonathan Brown’s quick thinking enabled one of the run outs and then he went on to hold on to a very good high catch.

A slow but steady first 2 overs saw the Stanmore opening pair get their eye in and from there on it was just one way traffic. Ed Stock was unfortunate to be run out for 11 when he was just showing signs of taking the bowling to all parts with the score on 31 in the 7 Over. Quick running between and some good strokes and a partnership of 45 to boast, Milan Harji 22 no & Taif Choudhury 22 no saw the home side through with more than 5 Overs to spare.
