Match report Well, an early start, a wet ball, a slippy outfield, a short boundary, an astroturf pitch, didn't play into our hands, but there was also our bowling, which was too short and too wide, that played into their hands.
A disappointing performance in the field cost us this match; poor bowling and basic errors in the field. We shouldn't try and stop the ball standing up, bending over and letting the ball roll through our legs. Two possible catches dropped, but another stunning brave catch by Lance again. That is why they got a large 217-3.
We then had to be good with the bat. We lost a wicket in the first over with a run out, then another wicket a couple of overs later, but then we built a bit of a partnership between Neil and Lance. We had another two run outs and finished on 88 all out.
Some things to work on then;
BATTING, watch the ball and don't swing wildly, 4 people were bowled, think about the possibility of a run, then call clearly, 3 people were run out.
BOWLING, don't bowl too short, don't bowl too wide, concentrate on bowling a good ball every time, check your field before you bowl.
FIELDING, long barrier, be brave and catch or stop the ball using all parts of your body, think about where you should be fielding for every ball.
