Match report Off to Ruislip for the start of the season. No Friendlies, no real practice, just a quick trial on Monday and the match the following day. A couple of boys were unavailable, a couple not selected for this match.
It was chilly and darkish and certainly damp at Ruislip. We won the toss and elected to bat, thinking that the damp wicket would cut up and it would be darker for vision later.
Great start with KEERTHIGAN SUGANTHAVEL hitting a lovely 35 before being run out. Practice needed on calling throughout!
So, we achieved 93 in total for the loss of 8 wickets. Not a bad score considering that the ball hardly moved once it rolled off the square.
And so to bowl.
We opened with a right arm leg spinner, HARSHNIL VARSANI and a right arm off spinner, ASHIR GANDHI. Erm! Said some of the boys, why are we doing that?
But after they had bowled 3 overs each, Ruislip were 16 for 4!
Great bowling by those two and then to finish it off, on came KEERTHIGAN SUGANTHAVEL to take 4 wickets in 8 balls.
Ruislip all out for 63.
