Match report Eventually, we managed to get a match in! Hoorah!
And we also got a win! Hoorah!

A beautiful evening on The Common saw us win our first match after three cancellations. Ickenham C brought a large crowd and also did the scoring for us, which was very kind.

CAPTAIN NIKESH lost the toss, with a pound he used that was found on the outfield. Ickenham C decided to bowl, as Nikesh said he would do during the pre-match interview.

So we batted and had a good start with SAHIL CHANDARANA knocking off a boundary early on. He went on to top score with 15. We did lose a couple of early wickets, but ROBERT SHERMER steadied the ship until he lost his rudder and was bowled around his legs for 7. AARON CHUDASAMA came in at number 6 and pinged off a couple of 4's to the mid-wicket boundary. He finished on 11. In came DYLAN BHARADIA at 7, who was 12th man, but came in at short notice. (Always worth turning up if you are 12th man). He hit our only SIX of the innings and ended his time at the crease with 7. KISHAN PATEL and CHIRAG KHATRI put on some valuable runs at the end. They batted to stay in when we only had 2 wickets left and 5 overs still to go. Sensible batting and then a push in the last two overs, saw our total get to three figures and allowed KUSH SHAH to play a most glorious off drive to finish the innings with a boundary.

What a smashing start we had. Two early run outs and then regular taking of wickets as the innings went on. A good spell from HAMMAD KHALID, who was bending the ball like a banana, kept the batsmen quiet and unable to score. More wickets fell, including another run out. Then AARON CHUDASAMA bowled a maiden to really squeeze the game out of Ickenham C's hands. The last two overs were a bit scrappy and we gave away a few too many runs and we CANNOT afford to do that every match.

GOOD batting, GREAT fielding, VERY GOOD bowling.
A couple of things on which to work; calling while batting and positioning when a ball is incoming.
