The Stanmore Cricket Club Won by 5 Runs

Match report A close win for Stanmore by just 5 runs. Stanmore won the toss and skipper Grant elected to bat first. Lost our openers Steven and Lalith cheaply then joined by Grant who steadied the ship and batted superbly for 61 runs with 10 fours. He started cautiously with well judged singles to keep the score ticking over and staeted to display his array of strokes and punished anything loose and was very unfortunate to be run out with 2 overs to spare. Grant's knock enabled us to finish with a respectable score of 115 off 20 overs.
Our opening bowlers stuck to their tasks and bowled a decent line and length before Udeepa got our first break through by clean bowling their opener. Harefield were well on target to reach our score on this fast outfield. But our 3 spinners Grant, Robert and Shahbaz pegged them back and got some crucial wicket. Then Himesh bowled beatifully to take 3 wickets off 2 overs for only 5 runs.
Stanmore fielding was very good on and did their basics very well on the field.
