Match report A pleasant evening on The Common was the venue for this match, but unfortunately even the setting sun was brighter than our batting. Nikesh Mistri lost the toss and we were asked to bat. In we went, confident after a long net practice yesterday, but, oh dear, 8 for 3 off 2.4 overs. Sahil Chandarana(0), Rohan Mapara(0) and Nikesh Mistri(1) all out early. Dillon Bhanderi who opened, almost carried his bat, but was out late for 22. The innings ended and we were 76 for 7. Not enough I'm afraid. Not enough good, hard shots or calling for sharp singles. Still, we were up for it and marched out to field knowing we have some good bowlers.
We fielded superbly. No misfields, good quick groundwork and sharp throw ins. The bowling was a bit indifferent and we had to mix the bowling around, as some boys were not on form, or their batsmen got used to the bowler. Too many wides caused a lot of the downfall, although there was some good bowling from Neil Sahasrebudhe(2-10) and Rohan Mapara(0-4) off two overs. They won with 4 overs to spare. Disappointing match, but good fielding performance.
